Do you know that parking on any property that is not your own is taking a big chance? Your property and anyone else's whether owned by the bank or a resident is 'Private Property'.
I made a drive around Lake Bella Vista yesterday morning and noticed a red SUV parked in the abandoned property at the corner or Rawls Rd. and the Expressway. It looked like it had been there over night and I'd never seen it before. I called the Sheriff's office non-emergency number (813-247-8200) and the person ran the tag for me. The car was registered to someone at the other end of the county. She also stated that maybe it was a friend or relative who needed a place to stay due to a power outage or some other situation. Who knows, right? She offered that maybe I might want to give it 24 hours before calling to have it towed. I'm thinking maybe it is stolen but hasn't been reported yet. You just don't know about these things until you look into them further. It's been 24 hours and I haven't went back to check it out. Maybe I will today, Saturday, after I get some more sleep.
So, now we know that a car could be towed away if found on a property like this. I had been recently told by a realtor of one of our other abandoned homes that it is private property and no one is to set foot on them.
Yeah, we might want to help out by cleaning up the yard and trash but that's up to you if you want to take a chance of being a trespasser or not. I can tell you that I've done it and others have done it but parking in the driveway? Ummm, I would be against taking that chance as there is space on the street most any time, right? But, that's against county law also. So, what do we do? PARK IN YOUR OWN DRIVEWAY. Simple!
Or, just take a chance. Get ticketed or towed away. Hmmm....
