Dear Mayor Madeline Rogero,
Why does Knoxville refuse to do something about the bums, drunks and thieves who hang out at the local businesses near Broadway and Coker Avenue, begging and harassing people? These are places of business where people to shop and take care of their business needs. But how can people take care of their business if they cannot shop in peace without being bothered by men and women who will not try to find a job or something productive to do with their lives.
Is the law enforcement too kind, too nice or simply just does not care if people cannot go to the stores or anywhere in Knoxville without these people bothering them. There is plenty here in Knoxville to do. It is a sweet, nice, pretty town, so why should people suffer because some people choose bum around, beg, harass other people and make the town look bad.
Please Madam Mayor, please do something about these people hanging around store fronts and places of business so the rest of the residents of Knoxville can live, work and shop in peace. Please rededicate yourself to promoting a vibrant local economy, strong neighborhoods, and a high quality of life here in Knoxville.
Sandy Salmen
