Keep Knoxville Beautiful (KKB) is making it easier to hold a zero-waste event in Knoxville and Knox County.
KKB this weekend is unveiling its “recycling trailer” thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Alcoa Foundation. The 6’ x 10’ trailer comes equipped with 35 wire recycling containers, 120 clear recycling bags, event recycling signage, an instruction manual, temporary tattoos, “stop litter” information, and a fold-out table and tablecloth.
The trailer is available free of charge to Knox County residents, businesses and organizations, but the event must occur within Knox County to qualify. The borrower must reserve, pick up and drop off the trailer and must have proof of insurance. Borrowers are asked to report the number of event attendees and the amount of recyclables collected by the pound. There is a three-day limit for borrowing the trailer, but KKB will work with borrowers on a case-by-case basis.
