I met with Tammy Market from Louisville Metro this morning and we approved the following address for the location of the speed humps:
110-109
118-117
202-203
214-215
The work will be done by Louisville Metro in 4 to 8 weeks depending on their schedule.
Yes, a lot of people need to be thanked for trying to slow down the selfish drivers who speed through our residential area as though it were the Daytona Speedway.
Kudos to Vicki Stearman for her efforts toward the speed hump.
A big thank you to Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson for responding so rapidly to my request for LMPD support in stopping the dangerous driving on the street, to LMPD Assistant Chief Philip Turner and Major Wiley for their quick response, to Officer Herman Harris for his cordial but firm and efficient enforcement of the speed limit, and to Officer Roger Pickett for taking care of the Smart Speed Device in my front lawn.
A note of appreciation to Metro Councilwoman Jullie Adams for the Metro financial support of the speed humps and for her quick response to my follow up email to her about the late afternoon speeders is most assuredly in order. Let her now how much we appreciate what she has done for us before she leaves iffice.
And to our own mayor and city council for financing the balance of the cost of the speed humps, and especially to Bellemeade Councilman Brian Hill for his staying on top of the issue.
However, let's not rest on our laurels until we have seen resonsible driving on all of our streets. Along that note, I would like to ask our own city council to make sure we have official speed limit signs posted throughout Bellemeade.
