City of Bellemeade

Oh? There is already an official spped limit sign between Shelbyville Road and the juncture of Dorchester and Southhampton at the north end of the entrance median.  It has been there for months.  Is it not between the yellow "speed hump 15 mph" sign and Shelbyville Road?

Is the little Bellemeade sign in the corner if my yard an officialb posting? 

At any rate, I am so happy that the traffic has slowed down and even reduced in number.  I feel like Ilive on a street in a residential area now - smile.

I think the speed bumps are great.  How can we get them on Bellemeade road?

How can you get speed humps on Bellemeade Road?

Good Question and it is a long process.

1. Attend a City of Bellemeade Commission meeting and request them.

2. 70% of residents on Bellemeade Road must agree.

3. Funds must be found - $7,200.00 to build 4 speed  humps. Bellemeade is a City of Bellemeade Road so the cost is all ours. North Chadwick is also a County Road so we paid half and the county paid  half.

We have dicussed this matter of putting speed humps on Bellemeade Road  at the previous planning meeting when we meet with Metro Louisville about installing speed humps on N. Chadwick.  Please ask your Neighbors that live on Bellemeade Road to come with you to the City of Bellemeade Meetings and discuss this with the Board, We will be glad to hear from as many Neighbors as possible.
