Does the constant crowing bother anyone????Where is it coming from???? I wasn't aware of a farm in Bellemeade??? It's driving me crazy I can hear it practically all day from early morning to late afternoon while trying to relax on the porch.

Send me an email [it is in the Bellemeade Commissioners list] and let me know where you live. I haven't heard of Roosters I did hear about some hens. If the roosters are disturbing the peace they will have to go. Mayor |

Just to try and provide some information... the Metro Louisville Animal Ordinance allows you to have one crowing and five non-crowing birds on less than half an acre lots. My sister-in-law had chickens (they are now gone), so she checked before she acquired them. |

The property that has the rooster is more than half an acre, so actually it is allowable to have unlimited roosters. When you first get chicks, you are not able to tell if they are roosters or hens. Out of six, three ended up being roosters. We already killed and ate two of them. We put the remaining rooster in the garage at night so that it will not wake people up too early in the morning. Occasionally we forget, but not often. The last rooster should be killed in a week or two. Hopes this helps. |
