I had always wondered why I saw so much grabage in Bellemeade yards on some Tuesdays.  Today, I saw a Rumpke truck, already full of garbage, collecting more garbage and running the compactor, but the garbage was remaining piled above the bin.  Nevertheless, the driver drove on to the next lawn piling more garbage on top with no place to go except to be strewn down the street.

A couple of hours later after a futile attempt to complain to Rumpke, I decuded to see how much was strewn elsewhere.  I found 44 places where appreciable size os garbage were either on the street on in people's yards.

I also saw seferal recycle bins and large cans left in the street.  Mine was left dead in the middle of my driveway making me dismount and move it so I could get in my driveway.  Surely glad it was not pouring down rain.

We deserve better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw that too and a complaint has been registered.

It is interesting to find out that other people in the City of Bellemeade are having this issue. It has become common place for me to come home on Tuesdays and pick up what was left from the obviously uneffective 'Rumpke claw'. In fact, I actually do it two days in a row as the City of Lyndons is across the street. Their pick-up is on Wednesdays and they use Rumpke as well.

I too have called Rumpke about this issue a few times. Their last response was quite interesting. "The trash people that work with us aren't required to touch the trash," I was told. Are they serious! That is like a lawn company not wanting to step on the grass, or a 'sandwich artist' that doesn't touch bread...

As noted in the latest newsletter, the service with Rumpke expires at the end of 2010. It is unfortunate that we will have to pick up our own trash - after it's been dropped on the ground by our current vendor - for one more year.

Mine was not collected last week at all. Suppose it was because I complained?
