One question:
As you were busy with your kids that evening, did you take the time to find out if these business men had the peddlers permit, or did you simply guess they didn't and inconsiderately shut them down?
And furthermore, have you ever thought long enough to consider a legitimate service or product that might be better for you and your family other than just relying on the Government and Big Business to say that they are doing any better? I didn't know we were talking about SCAMS. That is an entirely different issue. You might be an educated man, and I certainly didn't mean to insult your intelligence. For that I apologize, but I know that quite a few people pre-judge and jump to falsified conclusions on many issues. When I mentioned "educated decisions", I meant taking the time to understand what you are really dealing with. If it is a scam, call the police. If it seems to be a legitimate product or service, and they don't have proper licensing, encourage them to get permits before even considering their offer. If it is a licensed business, consider what they have to offer. You might be surprised.
By the way, the following companies have great home delivery services and products:
Schwann's frozen food - Home delivery
Brinks - Home security
Senske - Lawn and Tree care
Penguin - Windows
Country Prime Foods - Wholesale home products
Orkin - exterminators
Girl Scout cookies or any other legitimate school fund raiser (do they carry permits?)
I don't know, but kids or not, the law is the law, and I am going to keep buying their black market cookies, because they are so good!
If you don't want to engage in any of these wonderful products Delivered by hard working Americans, then simply put up a no soliciting / no trespassing sign. Close your blinds and doors, and go hide in your house. These hard working people don't want to deal with jumpy uptight customers just as much as you don't want to have them on your property.
