City of Bellemeade

Has the City of Bellemeade given permission to Councilman Ackerson to post his town hall meeting signs along our city entrances and in the easements along Shelbyville Road? If so, why? And, if not, can they be taken down? 

If someone wants to erect signs on their personal property, go for it . . . But, I don't think the city needs to provide space to erect political signage . . . regardless if it's just a notice of a town meeting. If we allow this, we leave ourselves open for all sorts of political signs . . . what a mess that would be.  :)

And, by the way, unless I've missed them, I don't see one single sign on the Hurstbourne neighborhood side . . . 

Metro Councilman may post official notices of meetings in Public right of ways with out permission and in fact they are required to do that. It is in our best interest to let them. Ackerson's staff always taknes them down quickly after the meeting.

Political signs that are in your yard even in the easement need your permission to be there and you can remove them. Commercial signs withe the exception of reality sings are NOT legal anywhere in Bellemeade and should be taken down.

Who owns the right of way along Shelbyville Road; Bellemeade or the Commonwealth of Kentucky?

I agree that with the potential of a large commercial mess next door to us that we need all the friends in government that we can get..   

Agreed . . . we need all of the 'friends' we can get.

Just so I'm understanding correctly..... Are you saying that our city entrance, both at the street and on Bellemeade past the stone walls is public right away?
