City of Bellemeade

I am in the minority that favors sidewalks. Most new neighborhoods these days are including sidewalks in their design. However, if we can't have sidewalks, I would love to see more speed humps, especially if six were approved in the beginning and we only installed four. Other posters on this site are correct in saying that speeding won't stop unless there is a penalty attached and I seriously doubt that the police are going to spend much time in the neighborhood ticketing speeders. The only way to achieve that would be for our city to hire it's own police person.

I think we should look into the feasibility of hiring a poliece person. or else go for "citizen arrest" ticketing....

Apparently, the power of citizen arrest is limited to felony offenses in Kentucky.  The idea of hiring our own poliece (sic) person is not feasible according to our mayor (salary and liability).
