Not only has this forum been a wonderful informational tool for me, it has helped me get acquainted with some neighbors that I would have otherwise never even met. I do love to hear ideas and opinions from other people even when those ideas and opinions differ vastly from mine. I read all of the posts; it is kinda like a daily requirement. One recent poster said something about some of the posts being mean-spirited Admitedly, some have been right testy including some of my own, but not mean-spirited. At any rate, I believe that the discussions, even though heated at times, have benefitted our little community. You know, it takes a lot of heat to make steel. And, whatever it takes to overcome complacency is not all bad.
A few years back, there was a country music song that had a line in it something like, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." During my military and teaching careers, I found that the people I could count on the most day in and day out were the ones who had enough grasp of reality to tell me what they thought whether I agreed or not. I also found out that if I don't want someone to differ with my opinion, I should keep it to myself.
I am grateful for my Bellemeade neighbors and friends all over our blessed little community. As I put together the organization of our Bellemeade Neighborhood Watch, I was blessed to be working with so many concerned and cooperative people. It was indeed joyful to witness so much hard work and care as I read and saw what each Block Captain and Alternate were doing to make their block safer. We still don't have that project completely finished, so if you want to join in, just let me know.
The point of this is, "I am thankful that I found this little house for sale eleven years ago."
