A car break-in in the Moorgate area, a after midnight trespasser on Southampton, and a truck stolen in the 8900 block of Shelbyville Road should alert us all to be more mindful of protecting ourselves and our property.
If you park your vehicles outside, do not leave your garage door opener, any keys, or
valuables in it.
Keep your keys by your bed - cause the horn to blow continously if you have
intruders.
Close your blinds or curtains in every room; a criminal will not know what is on the
other side if he/she can not see in with a flashlight.
Check all glass periodically. Theives have been known to cut out glass, tape it back in
place, and return when no one is at home.
Keep your cell phone close by - landline phones can be disabled outside your home.
