Did I hear correctly that the COMMISSION went into "executive" meeting to discuss voting on a pay raise of city salary? REALLY? For What? The current city clerk was just hired two months ago. To my knowledge she is the only one that gets paid.

The city treasurer is also paid. |

Excuse me. Executive session to discuss spending tax money? Surely you are kidding. That appears to be a violation of the Commonwealth's Open Meeting statute. If they voted on it in executive session, it IS a violation of law. |

One of the few things an executive session can be used for is to discuss confidential employee relations and job requirements. No votes are necessary. Any votes on pay raises would only be done in open meeting during annual budget process. The budget has to have two readings one in May and the other in June. |
