absolutely. at 1 am it trotted out of the woods. i thought it was a tall Fox with lighter coloring or a cross between fox & coyote but the experts so it isnt possible.  it was less than 20 feet away from me and i got a very very very good look at it and it locked eyes with me before it trotted off. it was just minding its own business sniffing the egde of the woods and stuck its head in a rabbit whole and i made a noise on purpose to see its reaction with my hand on the back door knob and it seemed startled for just a split second and then at ease when he saw i just stood there. i have since then seen several Fox that were without a doubt Fox. two totally different wild animals. Fox much much shorter and darker red/grey and long bodies that crouch low while sniffing the ground and they move very quickly like someone wound them up and let them go.
