From our friends on Wood Road. Keep your eyes open out there. These dogs are dangerous if they are attacking small animals.

In a message dated 9/13/2011 4:52:10 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time,
To my Wood Road Neighbors....
I live at 4xxWood Road and this morning at about 7:15 AM, my lovable and large black cat, Jack, was attacked by 4 dogs in my own yard. Jack fought back ...and luckily, my husband was coming back from walking our dog and was able to rescue him from these dogs. These dogs were not playing...they were aggressive and one of them was particularly vicious.
Jack has not been used to being an outdoor cat but has lately discovered the great outdoors around our home with our other cat.
He is in hiding somewhere in my home right now and as far as i can tell, he is ok. However, he is traumatized and may not come out for awhile.
My question is this? Who is letting their dogs run loose or not paying enough attention to them so that they can escape from their yards without an owners knowledge? These dogs were all together and were running as a pack...it was not an individual dog attack.
I love dogs and we have one that is very loved and cared for....I know that they can sometimes escape from an open door. It happens. However, I have seen several of the dogs that attacked my cat loose in the past ...in this area, but do not know for sure who they belong to.
I am obviously venting through this email group and hope that someone who reads this knows who the owner/s of the dogs are and can either let them know that their dogs are attacking or can let me know so I can address it with them.
I do not want this to happen again to anyone's pet or child...If anyone did see the dogs running loose this morning, you may know where they came from. Please let me know.
Thanks in advance....

Betsy, The dogs belong to the Galen's on Wood Road. (house with the white rail fence) They have been "reported" in the past- they have all their shots and are tagged, but they often "get loose" and run all day- but mostly at night. Metro Animal Services has visited this family several times to check on shot records, etc. The owners love the animals, but I am afraid that they will get hit, because they are so careless in letting them out of the fenced yard.
Now it is a matter of danger for our other animals and small children in carriages- I have seen young parents walk their kids and pets at the same time. There is no way they could fend off a hostile approach and a child may be in the middle.
These dogs approached me on several occasions in my recent walks and they appear fierce but do not attack Midget. I am not sure what the next step should be. Several neighbors are disturbed and have discussed this with me before. I don't want the dogs to be put down, so I hesitate to call Animal Control. Perhaps the City of Lyndon has a way of approaching this family about their lax regard for keeping their pets under control. This morning they were roaming near New LaGrange- almost certainly death or a car accident in the making! They had been out all night.
