I have been hearing from two or three different sources that out good mayor once again dropped the ball on more than one vital issue. I understand that several months ago he flatly rejected an offer from Metro via Councilman Jon Ackerson to paint the stripes on the North Chadwick Road speed humps. Now if that is not true, I would think apprecaite knowing the truth - mayor? I took it upon myself to call the Councilman's office for clarification (I thought maybe you should know that laryl before you comjure up your response, if you choose to comment - I understand if you find it more convenient to not respond)>
Further, not too many Bellemeade City Commission meetings ago, according to the minutes posted on here, our Commission voted to stripe the humps. That is very difficult for me to fathom. Why should we pay for what Metro has offered to do?
Will the speed humps be stripped before winter? Definitely not before fall since today is the last day of summer. The humps are dangerous with the stripes all faded like they are. Mayor laryl just in case nobody told you the position of mayor is an executive position - that means action, TIMELY ACTION. Action carrying out the projects voted on and passed by the City Commision, not on your own ill conceived, hairbrained ideas. Why are the humps not alread painted - when did the Commission approve the project?
I also heard that the tentative grant from Councilman Ackerson is also in jeopardy because "somebody" from Bellemeade dod not send the list of recommended projects to Mister Ackerson. Comment anyone?
