What happened to the issue of the "grant $"?  I hope Bellemeade isn't planning on using it for sidewalks.  (I don't see any mention of it in the mayors message or meeting notes)

Do the homeowners on Shelbyville Rd know they would have additional foot traffic, and the added expense of liability!  THEY (not Bellemeade) would be responsible for safety and clearing them of snow and ICE....and if some stranger walking down Shelbyville Rd on this said "sidewalk" gets hurt, they're gonna sue the homeowner and Bellemeade....

stupidest thing i've ever heard...
Isnt that a "special interest grant"  I'll get your city grant $$ (but may I strongly suggest sidewalks) that UL wants...but dont tell your residents that they'll have additional liability.  such a democratic approach... of it's for the better good of society, not so much your residents.
let em walk across the street in Hurstborne.

What happened to what the actual "Residents of Bellemeade" proposed?
The Mayor seems to be wanting to move onto a website...maybe to silence the residents on this one.

Reba, politicans never consider the ramifications. They just want to look good by giving somebody something without regard to the fact that the subsequent costs will be far greater.  Surely, someone could run against out current 18th District councilman that could beat him.

As far as the mayor and the website, this will be just another one added to his long list of unfinished projects.  He needs to go too.

I'd just like to know if the "residents" have been informed of the plan?  And do they KNOW how it will affect them...they should have a voice in this!!! NOT just the MAYOR.!  He won't have to keep the sidewalk clear...it's not in his front yard.  He has a DUTY to serve those residents affected by the addition and get their opinion and HEAR their thoughts.  Not everyone has time to go to a 15 min meeting once a month.  I wish I did....

Also, where in the world are they gonna put this sidewalk?  on top of the service rd for those residents facing shelbyville rd?  or are they gonna cut down all those TREES  to make room?
