Your Neighborhood Watch Leadership Group recently conducted a Neighborhood Watch Sign Design Survey.

More than 90% of the respondents preferred signs with a lot of red and white.  In the

words of one lady, "The red WARNING draws attention to itself and may be nore likely to

   be read by potenetial offenders."

More than 75% of the respondents stated that the one sign near the Moorgate entrance is

too bland and does not present a warning.

Please note that the Bellemeade City Commission Agenda for December 12, 2011, under New Business contains the general term, "Neighborhood Watch Signs - Mayor"  without any further explanation as to what that exactly entails.

I did not know that there was a survey about the signs.  Who are the respondents?  90% of how many?

I did not know that there was a survey about the signs.  Who are the respondents?  90% of how many?

Of course you didn't know.

Did you contact your Block Captain as you said you would?  ...  no.

Did you send your contact information to the email address you were provided? ... no.

Did you say you want to receive emails, phone calls, or knocks on the door from Neighborhood Watch?  No, in fact, you specifically stated that you did NOT want to receive them right here on this discussion board.

Of course you didn't know.  How could you have since you specifically opted out ... ?????

And, if there is criminal activity on your block or the one behind you, more than likely you will not know that either because you asked to be left out.  Where's the beef?

I probably should have ignored this post, because I honestly question your motive, but since Neighborhood Watch is here for everyone on Bellemeade ...  do you have a constructive suggestion about the Neighborhood Watch sign design, or are you just making waves?  If you will look at one of your previous posts, you will find my email address in a reply to you.  You may send your suggestion there.  The City Commission does not meet until tomorrow night, so you still have time to voice your suggestion - just do it in a reply right here since you don't want your identity revealed.

Have a good week and a very nice Holiday Season.

Good reply Mr. pajowm!  I think you folks have done way too much work to be unnecessarily deterred by a floundering naysayer.  I, for one, greatly appreciate your efforts, and I know my neighbors do. I like red with very few words on the signs too.  Obvious, blunt, and to the point!

Have a very good Christmas and Happy New Year!
