Hope all the kids had a nice Halloween and no problems along the way. I enjoy seeing all the kids in their costumes.
Looks like our fall weather has arrived and we can now open our windows and enjoy the nice cool air.
Our Traffic Abatement was in front of the commission on September 19th. The Commission approved the speed tables to be installed on Lockwood Ridge Road, Xrving, Courtland and Greenbrier. They will be nice speed tables like on Osprey not the globs of black top we have on Conrad. It's a shame we have to go to this extreme to slow traffic down but this is what happens. We have had people go as fast as 90 miles an hour down Lockwood Ridge, I would hate to see a child or person hit at that great of speed. We had a traffic count on Irving and 1245 car's were countedg in a 24 hour period, a lot of this is from the neighborhood in back of us, one of these days maybe I can get a road off of Bahia Vista or Beneva to help with the traffic in our neighborhood.
It was nice to see so many more neighbors at the meeting in September, people are finding out that if they come to the meetings they learn a lot of what is going on in our neighborhood and with the city, Lt. Wall always has the list of police calls and what has happened also. If you don't come to the meetings you don't know what is going on here and what you can do to help out.
We have an organization in the city called the "Greater Sarasota Downtown Action Team", they are a group of concerned citizens that go
and help out a homeowner that is having financial difficulty repairing things to their home, we have had them help one of our neighbors
this past week and thank them for that. If any of you would like to help out with a donation or with working on someone's home let me know and I will give you the phone number.
BJ Spangler, head of Code Compliance was ill and couldn't make it to the September meeting, but will be here this month for our meeting. A lot of homes in the neighborhood have been fined or giving notice for a violation, if you would like to be at the meeting to find out about the codes for Sarasota please come, all are welcome.
There isn't much else that needs to be done, just our sidewalks to go to the park and working on listing the neighborhood as a Historical Neighborhood so a contractor can't come in and build big condos or homes that don't meet our standards.
Please attend this meeting for the election of officers. WE NEED YOU!!!! IT'S YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD TOO! ! !
Our election of officers will be on the agenda for our November 8th neighborhood meeting. I have been your President for 3 years and have enjoyed doing what I could to make this a safer and better place for all of us to live. I have accomplished just about all I wanted to do for the neighborhood and would like to see someone else take over as president. I will stay on as a board member but it is time for someone else to take the helm. Please think about what you can do for everyone in Bellevue Terrace and please
come to the next neighborhood meeting on November 8th for the election of our officers.
Mickey - President BTNA
