LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to Spring Berwick friends and neighbors:

There was a time when I would have told you to open your windows and let the fresh spring air in. But it?’s a different time and day and it?’s important to remember the world around us is changing. You can open the windows but please don?’t leave them unattended, and close your garage doors while working outside when you are out of the sight of this entry point to your home.
Please continue to be ?“Neighborhood Smart ?“. We all live in Berwick and I?’m asking everyone to take ownership in what happens around you. Get to know your neighborhood and have a fair sense of knowing what is normal and what?’s not. Please continue to report all suspicious activity to our Columbus Police at 645-4545 and all other City relates issues 645-3111.
With your continued support our neighborhood will continue to be one of Columbus top 10 Neighborhoods, but we must all take part in keeping Berwick at that level.
What make?’s Berwick unique is all of us who call this neighborhood home. We have walkers, runners, bikers, sightseers, dog walkers, and religious worshipers. I have a concern for all of you, it still gets dark and dark clothing should not be worn after dusk. Please dress to be safe. If you are wearing dark colors please invest in a reflective vest, it save lives and/or grief. Please help us to see you.
The City?’s difficult time allows us to become closer, ask your neighbors to join with you to have yard waste picked up and share the cost. What a great way to make friends?

Slow down!!! Neighbors are complaining about vehicle speed in the neighborhood. I must remind them that the majority of the vehicles in Berwick are our neighbors. If we slow down then other will too, I find myself now paying more attention to my speed, my attempt to lead by example. With more activity on our streets now is the time to be ?“Neighborhood Smart?”.
I will conclude with this, ?“Neighborhood Smart?” means taking pride in where you live. Our new neighborhood school has given our community a new burst of energy. We must plan smart for the future. Soon we will see an increase in children, if we leave trash on our streets they will put trash on our street, if we speed they will speed, if we have no respect for our neighbors they won?’t either.

Help by being ?“Neighborhood Smart?”. Be safe and enjoy the Spring.
