NYC POLICE STAFFING AND EXPERIENCE AT LOWEST LEVELS IN MANY YEARS. SOURCE: THE NEW YORK TIMES
We all know that the economy is slowly slipping into a recession with rising gas and food prices, as well as major job losses throughout the city. The projected results of these combined negative factors will be higher crime rates in the city and our police department at its present level of readiness is not prepared to effectively deal with increasing crime, nor does the city plan to hire additional police officers due to budgetary constraints.
Given this grim reality, our Security Patrol presence is and will be more important than ever in the year ahead. Our existing contract with City Investigations is about to be up and now is the time for community residents to send, or deliver, their security checks in the amount of $475.00 to Glenn at 290 Stratford Road. Please be sure to make out the check to the ?“Beverley Square West Association?” and PLEASE submit your check no later than June 15th. NOTE NEW MEMBERS = INCREASED SECURITY.
The security patrol committee is comprised of a very small group of volunteers who pay the same $475.00 as every other member and we would greatly appreciate your making our job easier by submitting your payment on time.
