Through a combined effort of the members of the Big Pine and Lower Keys Rotary and the Executive Directors of Big Pine's own Newfound Harbour Marine Institute, "Seacamp Association, Inc.", a lottery is being developed within the New York Fireman's Relief group to award full-residental scholarships to two children who have lost a parent and/or parents in the Twin Towers tragedy, to enable them to attend SeaCamp and participate in their internationally known summer program. Transportation costs and accomodations for parent and/or guardian who accompanies the children will be provided by Rotary. Participation in the program will include marine science courses, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, arts & crafts/photography. All this in a 14 day vacation in our paradise. The winners lottery numbers will be drawn at the 5th Annual Kid's Karnival on March 9, 2002.
