Did You Know About GEO System?
The system is called "Geo-notify, it serves all of Mecklenburg County. Police use the geo-notification system to basically draw a circle around a specific neighborhood that needs to be notified of a crime alert, an emergency, or a missing person.

The updated software even includes weather data to help in a hazardous materials situation. Mecklenburg County just signed a three-year contract. It costs $186,000 and it was paid for by a Homeland Security grant.
