Students are back to school and at neighborhood bus stops. Parents typically do a great job of preparing their child for school throughout the year with appropriate clothes, necessary supplies, and even the perfect backpack. But one area that is often lacking, transportation experts say, is child safety driving awareness around school zones, school buses, and child care centers.
Tracy Stocker will be heading up the Membership Drive in September. If you would like to help with this committee, please give her a call at 337-6162. Our membership drive helps to pay for our Community Garage Sale, Pumpkin Drop, snow removal, and our newsletter and telephone directory. The costs for plowing can change drastically so please support our membership drive by paying your dues of $20.00.
At a moment's notice, you and your family need to know what to do when a critical incident, severe weather or natural disaster strikes. Planning now for how you would respond will help you remain calm, think clearly and react appropriately to any safety scenario. Coming up: Our Annual Pumpkin Drop will be coordinated by the Ginty?’s. This event is fun for families and kids in the community. Free pumpkin to members of BWCA, refreshments, and more. A visit from Columbus Fire is usually scheduled for the event, which is also Fire Prevention Month. A donation of non-parishable canned and boxed foods are collected for the Food Pantries. Check the BWCA website calendar for other activities and more information.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is looking for volunteers and donations to help meet their goals for this year.?  Volunteers are matched to positions based on ability, interest, and availability. Safety Tips: School has started and kids will be walking to and from bus stops. Please obey speed limits and rules for school bus stops.
