BLENDON WOODS CIVIC ASSOCIATION NEEDS VOLUNTEERS

 Volunteer_clip_art.gif

We are always in need of volunteers for our July 4th Parade, Annual Garage Sale, Welcoming Committees, Social Committee, Blockwatch Committee and Nominating Committee. Why do we need volunteers?

Our civic association is made up of volunteers. The volunteers help us to foster community spirit. It takes time and commitment but in the end you are rewarded with knowing that you helped to keep the civic association active. Having a civic association protects the neighborhood property values and also can prevents crime, when everyone becomes involved in the neighborhood. Please help us by volunteering to be on a committee.

Recently, we have had vounteers agree to help with the Development Committee. Thanks to John LaMotta for offering to sit in on meetings at the Northland Community Council, but we still need 2 people to take turns going to the NCC general meetings. Pam Kutsick represents the BWCA at the Development Committee meetings and we still need one person to be alternate. We have a lot of development in our area that is being planned and we can be a part of the decision process by being involved.

We need Volunteers for the 4th of July parade this summer. Mark and Bronwyn Ginty organize the Pumpkin Drop every year! We have been asked about our Community Garage Sale and when our next one will be. If you would like to organize a community garage sale, please call the phone number above. We will announce upcoming events in the newsletter.  If you wondered why some of your favorite activities didn't happen, it's because NO ONE VOLUNTEERED!

We have some residents who have been Area Representatives for their street for many years.   Thank you so much for your continued support in volunteering to pass out newsletters, membership forms and represent your area. We have some areas that need new volunteers, so be ready to help our community!

Please remember that these are your neighbors and that they are volunteering to keep you informed by passing out newsletters, telephone directories, membership forms and collect dues. They are not here to solve all of the problems, it takes the effort of everyone working together to get things done. If you have concerns or issues you can voice them on the website discussion area or email a board member on the Neighborhood Contacts link. We will be glad to help with any questions or concerns. The City of Columbus has a great resource available to help with problems also.Check out the 311 Call Center set up to help all residents with city services and needs of city residents.

Check this page for common code violations in the City of Columbus.

Please Stand Up and get involved in your community!
