Blendon Woods Civic Association

I was looking at the report for April and I noticed that a lot of property crimes have been occuring in Broadview Farms and in Bent Tree area. The reports have been very frequent and it looks like they are avoiding our Civic Association area, maybe because of the Crime Prevention signs that are in each of our neighborhoods. Our it may just be luck. It is something that we all need to be on top of throughout the summer months.

Be vigilant and don't leave your windows open and garage door open. Install timer lights inside and outside to keep your home well lit. Let your neighbors know of your away plans so they can keep on eye on mail, newspapers, etc. If it is happening this close to our neighborhood, then we all need to be more aware. Not sure about these 2 listed crimes, because no one has reported to Board Members. Please let us know if you have to report a crime, so that we can alert the neighborhood.

Sorry to say, our area is not so safe!  Our house was burglarized on April 21 just after both my husband and I had left for work.  We think the house was watched because they knew exactly when my husband left and broke in with only a 20 minute window of time before our neighbor noticed our garage door open and our vehicles not there.  They broke in through the back patio door since our house backs up to the Asbury Ridge subdivision and there are many trees to block the view.

Please be aware of strange vehicles in the area or persons just sitting in parked cars as if scoping out the neighborhood!
