While the ANC5 vote was tabled by Big Bear, it is a shame that there is suddenly such controversy. Stu Davenport and the Big Bear Cafe have proven themselves responsible neighbors. I live on R St NW less than a block from BBC and I fully support BBC's endeavour to expand their menu, hours, and serve alcohol. It would be a joy to have a place within walking distance. I trust Stu Davenport and feel no need to second guess him.

My concerns for the neighborhood stem from the insane amount of package liquor stores within a few blocks radius of BBC. I also question what is happening up 1st NW and on North Capital regarding taverns, bars, and other restaurants potentially opening. BBC is a proven entity. These places are not. Providing a Stipulated license to work during the placard period will give both the BBC and the neighbors a chance to work out any kinks that will arise from the proposed changes.
