Oh yeah...

I am not a big supporter of Mr. Kokoros.. (not at all I might say).. but I do agree Mr Shaw's only goal was to fleece the town. I am delighted he is gone. I do not think that Mr Viola is a adequate replacement..

Fire Department in Full Control

Don't you get it? Shaw was the last holdout against the fire department. The retirement board is made up of the fire chief , president of the fire union and Johnson. Johnsons son and brother are firemen. They were worried that there automatic retirments as chiefs deputy chiefs and captains would be hurt by intelligent people like Shaw. The fire department in Braintree is the biggest joke going.

set the way back machine back in history. It will show you that the fire department has historicly been the most interested of the town employees with being involved with the retirement board. It may have been in their best interest to be involved but the retirement fund has thrived under their watch. dumping shaw was the way to go the only thing better would be to watch the moving van pulling away from his residence. their so bad i bet you wish you were a braintree fire fighter

Night Meetings Instead

Mr. Johnson's comments before the Selectmen recently as to why he and Mr. Shaw charged ''billable hours'' for their attendance at all Retirement Board meetings was lame and poor facade of reality. Because these board meetings are conducted at 10a.m. instead of 7p.m., former Town Counsel Arthur Smith charged off billable hours as an appropriate expense to serve on the board. These board members attend Cape Cod junkets at the expense of the retirement system. If the meetings were held at night instead of during the daytime, I understand attorneys couldn't assess billable hours for their attendance. Soooooooo, lobby our retirement board to have night meetings. Case closed.
It is blatantly wrong for one member to charge off $125/hour to attend meetings while four other members get zip zero to attend the same meeting. Being an attorney, moral of the story, is akin to license to steal!
