Railroad right of way means just what it says. They have the right of way and it would take an act of congress to change that.

Lets make them

take the trains out of town.The tracks should be moved to Weymouth and go arround Braintree,that should work,right.

Your darn right it could.. we do not have as many trains passing through town.. but go down to Front st. and see what these trains are carrying..

easy to criticize

The fact that the trains DO go through Braintree - and cross multiple streets - should be a very good reason for trying to gain some safety controls on the neighborhoods. Sarcasm doesn't prevent accidents. Look at the State assessment of streets (local, collector, arterial)- heavy trucks should be using the BEST streets for their loads - not the quickest to their destinations, if reasonable, alternative routes are available. If you have an arterial road - that's what should be used. That's good planning.
