Michael Moore has been busting his rather sizable hump for two months on a campaign to get his anti-Bush polemic, ''Fahrenheit 9/11,'' nominated for an Oscar.

But when the nominees were announced yesterday, his incendiary movie was nowhere to be seen ?— despite the liberal bent of many Academy Awards voters, who two years ago gave Moore the Best Documentary prize for ''Bowling for Columbine.'' --FAHRENHEIT FAILS AS CLUB SNUBS SCHLUB

''A lot of the Academy members agree with Moore's politics, so I thought they would give him a Best Picture nomination,'' says Hollywood Reporter online columnist Martin Grove.

Moore's film was always considered a long shot for an Oscar nod, especially after he withdrew it from contention in the Best Documentary category to focus on the Best Picture race.

But while Moore may be guilty of overreaching, he campaigned hard.

''Last December, Michael went door to door, pitching the movie,'' recalls David Poland, editor of the showbiz-industry Web site MovieCityNews.com.

His whirlwind campaign included intimate lunches with studio heads and top agents ?— ''the real serious players,'' Poland says ?— as well as cocktail parties hosted by liberal groups in tony L.A. suburbs like Santa Monica.

The notoriously schlubby Moore even got a Hollywood makeover for the campaign, showing up at the Jan. 9 People's Choice Awards with a snazzy suit and spiky hairdo, and without his scruffy beard and trademark baseball cap.

Barbra Boxer, You must be jestin

Barbra Boxer, You must be jesting?

She is more liberal than Dean, Kennedy and Kerry all rolled into one.
She couldn't get elected to N.O.W outside of California. What a race it would be, The Boxer babe and Hillabillie, who could resist the suspense, who will it be. The fur will fly when the head lesbians of liberalism are in the ring.

Personally I don?’t think your choice stands a chance, she isn?’t well known out side of her district and her foolish introduction of dead end bills in the Senate make her a laughing stock with the other Senators on both sides of the isle. Her latest, a challenge to the election in Ohio lasted about thirty minutes and was defeated in chamber.

Even the other icon of liberal feminists Di Fi is better at the introduction of bills than Boxer.
Why would a rational, I assume that you must be rational, but who knows, young lady choose a loose cannon like Boxer is beyond comprehension? Are you from her district in California?
Do you like the way she does her hair? Why is she your choice prey tell?

Oh well, you are one of the few to mention Boxers name in connection with high
office nationally,.the primaries, if it gets that far, should be interesting!
