What's About These Licenses?

Posted in: Braintree
Here's What To Do..

If the Chinese restaurant on Quincy Avenue could sell it's All Alcoholic Beverage License two years ago to The ''99'' for $200,000, is there any wonder why Messina wants to tie up as many licenses one way or another - investment return purposes! Call the Globe Spotlight (anonymously). Call Channel 4 News. Call Editor of Patriot Ledger. Call Alcoholic Beverage Commission in Boston who regulate all booze licenses in the state and let them hear about these Braintree political shenanigans. I've done my part by calling ABC office and Globe Spotlight. If these contacts hear from enough irate Braintree citizens about this crap, they'll be here and expose it publicly if not criminally.

Am I missing something?

Who else but Messina is holding on to one of these licenses? Anyone got a list?

List? Source

Messina has license unused, but in his possession for the never built Charlie Gs restaurant slated for the empty, unfinished building next to Bugaboo Creek on Mahar Boulevard. He's had it for six years. He can build stores, condos, homes, apartments, but can't seem to get Charlie Gs off the ground??
He owns property that Grille 1209 (former KFC) on Washington Street that recently closed down. Grille 1209 want to unload/not renew their license for this address because they can't afford rent and had low business numbers to boot. Hmm, wanna bet Frankie is eyeing that license as well as final rent payment from the defunct restaurant in his property?
He has license in the fading Siros/FX on Granite Street that his partner escaped the partnership months ago, but Frankie has renewed the license for 2005 despite noticeable declining patrons at the site. Frankie owns the entire Granite Street Mall including building Ground Round was in that supposedly Appleby's are coming in their place if they can get the Ground Round's license and an acceptable lease rental agreement from Fankie. Frankie owns liquor store licenses for Granite Plaza and Pearl Plaza. Bon Panne had license, but no place to open up for business for this their third year. They've been trying to find a deep pocketed buyer of their license they haven't used for three years? These therefore are pocket licenses - unused, but allocated by our Selectmen to these license holders. A reasonable amount of time for a holder to get into business is one thing. Six years? Unheard of!
