Could be in a hep o' trouble.

The Clintons could be in a hep o' trouble.
Not only could a key witness cut a deal with federal prosecutors and give up Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign in a finance fraud case, Mrs. Clinton and former President Bill Clinton soon could find themselves in the docket in a serious civil lawsuit they desperately are hoping to stop:

= The Justice Department says it has evidence that Hillary Clinton's 2000 campaign for the U.S. Senate deliberately low-balled costs associated with a fund-raising event. That, supposedly, to free up more money for electioneering.

Peter Paul, a three-time felon currently under indictment for stock fraud charges in New York, claims he underwrote most of the cost of the August 2000 star-studded Hollywood gala. Prosecutors say he did so in hopes of securing a presidential pardon that never came. Mr. Paul and the Clintons have denied the allegation. Clinton's campaign denies any fund-raising chicanery.

= In a second matter, the Clintons have filed an appeal with the California Supreme Court in an attempt to stop a lawsuit filed by Paul. Acting on Paul's behalf, Judicial Watch contends Mr. Clinton reneged on a $17 million deal to work for two Paul Internet companies.

The lawsuit says none of Paul's expenses -- $2 million he spent to put on the Hollywood gala that also was part of the business deal -- were reported as required to the Federal Election Commission.

The Clinton saga continues. More's the pity.

Sunday Poll,Bush Up Again

President Bush held on to a slim lead in an ABC News poll released on Sunday, getting 50 percent of the vote against 46 percent of likely voters who supported his opponent, Sen. John Kerry.
The poll, taken Wednesday through Saturday, found more voters said Kerry won the first presidential debate but were evenly split on which candidate had the edge in Friday's matchup. The latest poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

A telephone survey of likely voters from Tuesday through Thursday also showed 50 percent would vote for Bush and 47 percent for Kerry. A similar poll from Monday to Wednesday showed Bush with 49 percent and Kerry with 47 percent
Democrats are motivated by hate

Affection. There is also a difference in motivation on the two sides. Democrats are motivated more by hate--not too strong a word--of Bush than they are by positive feelings toward Kerry, the candidate they settled on quickly to avoid the electoral disaster they thought they'd face if they nominated Howard Dean. Republicans are motivated more--not by love, that is too strong a word--but by affection for Bush and for the way he has stood up under the attacks of his opponents and the media.

That affection seems likely to be strengthened by Bush's performance at last week's second debate in St. Louis. Bush showed a sense of command and a command of facts and argument much greater than he had eight days before in Coral Gables. He seemed at ease and even cracked a few jokes. Kerry, on the other hand, often seemed on the defensive and fell into the habit of repeating himself--the very same habit that hurt Bush in their earlier encounter. Kerry's stentorian tones were, for the most part, unleavened by humor. As this is written, no poll results have been announced, but my guess is that the balance of enthusiasm is likely to tilt toward Bush by about the same amount it tilted against him after the first debate. If that's right, Bush's numbers are likely to spike upward in the Gallup Poll and to rise slightly in polls that weight for party identification. But that may not be the final move. The balance of enthusiasm can change quickly, as we have already seen. And any significant shift could change the outcome of this election.

By Hate Is Mindless,Destructive
Why?

During the debates, why John Kerry always say he will ''kill the terrorists''? Could he use the word 'capture' instead? May be he hopes people will think he is a tough guy too.
