Everybody's in agreement that we need a Town Manager. All we need to figure out is whether that person is elected or appointed.

If we go for elected, then we have to get rid of Town Meeting.

Half dozen of another. An elected Town Manager is the same as a City Mayor. Don't argue over words. It's the same thing.

PS I favor an appointed TM; put in place by the BOS.

They are not the same. Mayor is the only one in charge, so if anything goes wrong we know who to blame. On the other hand, a town manager is just like our current executive secretary, which is useless.
