One Dry Dock Filled In

I believe the proposal is to fill in just one of the dry docks at the shipyard, not all of them at this time at least. Soon, the steel girders will come down, the dry dock will be filled in and paved over to give terra firma for off loading cargo at this soon to be shipping port. It is regrettable that a full redevelopment plan hasn't been announced at once, but I can't blame Quirk. Look what has happened in Weymouth with the air base. They want one redevelopment plan approved, funded and underway all at once. It's only been six years now and they are collecting no taxes while the bumbling idiots try to decide what is best there. Think we're traffic heavy now - think what it will be with 3500 new residences in Weymouth once that place is developed. What a great Pease Air Force Base clone for an international air freight terminal. We may have a new South Boston Terminal here at the shipyard when Quirk is all said and done, but thinking we can restrict commercial vehicles over town roads and county or state roads is naive. What Quincy does or doesn't do Braintree cannot control any more than they can control what we do. Hey, EBR, next time you post, take your fickle finger off the keyboard!

seen this piece of property looking this good for years.. It is paved and neat.. the old shipyard was a disgrace.. I say thank you to Mr. Quirk..
