How Newsweak Did THeir Poll


The NewsWeak ''Poll''
Back on September 11th (good time for a political poll, huh?), NewsWeak belched out a set of data that was based on the following partisan breakdown:

R = 39 percent
D = 30 percent
I = 27 percent
Not stated = 4 percent

Earlier today, however, NewsWeak predictably began the last-ditch media push to try and take down President Bush and to replace him with John Kerry. Part of that process, of course, is and will be a psy-ops campaign to encourage liberal college students actually to vote and to suppress turnout amongst nervous, fickle conservatives. ''Polling data'' allegedly showing Kerry ''closing the gap'' or ''catching Bush'' will be part and parcel of that campaign.

Here's the partisan breakdown for today's ''poll'' by NewsWeak:

R = 34 percent
D = 36 percent
I = 27 percent
Not stated = 3 percent

In other words, they decreased Republican sampling by 5 percentage points and increased Democratic sampling by 6 full percentage points. Furthermore, this ''poll'' strictly was limited to the ''Pacific and Mountain time zones.'' In other words, registered voters from the following states completely were excluded: Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, Indiana, and the entire old south.

A landslide for Kerry, if vote was in Canada

MONTREAL ?— The results are enough to make John Kerry wish Canadians could vote in the U.S. presidential election.

Kerry's strongest support in Canada came from Quebec, where 69 per cent of respondents said they preferred the challenger, compared with only 11 per cent who favoured Bush.

''Quebecers are less conservative, they were also more supportive of (former U.S. Democratic president) Bill Clinton, for example.''

Martin said Quebecers also tend to get a lot of their news and perceptions of what is happening worldwide from France, one of the United States' most vocal critics on several issues.

''So it's not surprising that Quebecers are more in line with French opinion than other parts of the country.''

(Monmouth Junction-WABC, October 3, 2004) ?— You might say it is a symbol of the Great American Divide, a teacher putting up a picture of President Bush in the classroom. Some say it is partisanship while others say it is patriotism.

Parents expressing outrage after a teacher is kicked out of her public school for hanging a picture of President Bush next to pictures of other presidents in her classroom.

This is Crossroads South Middle School in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. On Thursday, there was a back-to-school night for parents of students. Veteran English teacher Shiba Pillai-Diaz says she was shocked when three parents confronted her. The three, insisting the teacher either add John Kerry's photo to the montage of presidents or remove the Bush photo. When Pillai-Diaz refused, she says the school's vice-principal threatened her job which is an act that has parents here fuming.

Paula Sjolund, Parent: ''She didn't do anything wrong, and I think that it should have stayed up there.''

Pillai-Diaz ultimately removed the entire bulletin board and says School Principal Jim Warfel told her she disrupted the school with her ''inflammatory politics''. She says he then ordered her out of the building. While she says she is a Bush supporter in her personal life, Pillai-Diaz says she keeps politics out of the classroom.

Shiba Pillai-Diaz, Teacher: ''There was no political intent, nor was there any political content in that photograph nor on the bulletin board.''

School officials would not talk on camera but insist nobody here has been fired. To that, Ms. Pillai-Diaz asks what does it mean then when your boss asks you to hand over the keys and kicks you out of the building? She also says she is not sure if she'll be returning to school tomorrow.
