A note to the board of selectmen:
want a sure fire way for me
to vote for a prop 2 1/2 override
or debt exclusion?

Just announce that the auto
excise tax is being elminated
effective today.

As far as i'm concerned the town got
the override last year. No they didn't call it an override last year,
they called it my auto excise tax bill..
For me it is the same thing, it is
money out of my wallet.

When you pay $500 for a buidling permit
in this town what do you get for that
$500? As far as I can tell you get zip
for that $500.

Just another way to raise money.

Are you kidding? There isn't a community around that does not levy an auto excise tax. You would have more grounds to complain about the trash fee than the fact that you have to pay an auto excise tax. Suck it up. It's life.

All taxes are obscene and should be eliminated, fought against tooth and nail!
Why would anyone with a modicum of intelligence volunteer to pay more
taxes in an override is a mystery to me, the ever-present need for more, more
by the criminally greedy school teachers and their union knows no bounds, these people are the town taxpayers enemy, gimmie, gimmie is their mantra.

To me for one its not about the school kids, its about the teachers need for more and I say no more to the unions/teachers/school repairs!
