The Math is Foolish Economics

Your sole justification for the tax increase (The exclusion of $12,000,000 dollars) that we, Braintree does not have, is to pay for an imposed trash fee charged on us, the tax payers of this town, for not approving the override attempt last year!

The fee was in effect a punishment, plain and simple and now if we do not approve this one how are they, the town leaders going to punish us this time, double the trash fee?

I say call their bluff, this town hasn?’t put forth an justification for an override/exclusion!

The major roads in this town are state maintained and owned, the schools repairs were already funded by a bond, the only justification to be honest folks is to fund contracts for School, Fire, and Police pay increases or staffing increases for all three.

We have already had an increase in our taxes this year, take a look at your tax bills!

i agree with those who say you need to apologize. why can't we have discussions w/o namecalling??

i voted for the debt exclusion the last time, but WILL NOT this time.

It's the same proposal isn't it?

well

i think that if this were to pass, we would see additional overrides in sheep's
clothing masquerading as debt exclusion. when a household finds that it is exceeding its budget, the ones in charge take necessary steps to cut spending, not
borrowing on the future. i don't see why it should be any different in governments.
