Town of Braintree

high school fire lane parking

Posted in: Braintree
i spoke with BPD last night about the fire lane parking.dispatch was going to send cruiser to investigate, ticket& tow if necessary.NOTE: according to dispatch Braintree High School is responsible to manage the parking lot for events.just letting you all know what i was told.if this is true two problems still exist:
1)high school is not policing its property
2)people who attend events(not all, just the ones who illegally park)
are ignorant lazy people who also are
BREAKING the law.
so,apathetic high school+ ignorant people = another reason why our town priorities are screwed up.its not just
the people who run the town but those who either visit or live here.nice

What?

That doesn't make any sense! The high school doesn't have a police department of its own to ticket cars! The high school doesn't have the ability to tow cars away! If a car was blocking the fire lane, then of course it's up to the BPD, who usually have a detail at night games, to get it out of there.

By Huh?
high school personnel are

responsible to monitor when an event is put on there.either they hire a detail or someone takes responsibility
onsite.ignoring that does not let them off the hook.the town is and will be responsible if emergency vehicles respond and can't travel in the signed FIRE LANE because they can't get past
IDIOTS who you would think can read & comprehend signage indicating '' NO PARKING-FIRE LANE''.if as you suggest a detail police officer was onsite and did not monitor this violation, well, that's another subject all together.i would think at the very least dispatch would have radio contacted them in regards to my complaint.will see how this goes.

from now on..report incidents

You Need to Report It
I strongly suggest that if you get a ''what do you think we should do'' response from a police dispatcher that you ask to speak with the shift commander. If the shift commander doesn't do anything, than you ask to speak with a deputy chief or the chief of police. FYI - their numbers are 781-794-8603 (shift commander), 781-794-8629 (Deputy Jenkins), 781-794-8654 (Deputy McHugh), 781-794-8651 (Chief Frazier). All calls to police dispatchers are recorded. So, if you get a negative response, report your complaint to one of the above. The tapes speak for themselves. Police dispatchers have been disciplined for such negative responses to the public. If you work your way up the chain and don't get the response you want, call 781-794-8110 and report it to the Board of Selectmen. However, I'm confident it will be dealt with before you reach that level. Instead of complaining here, you should make the supervisors aware of it, because if you don't, they may never find out about it and the behavior will continue.-By COP
