Trash fee

We taxpayers in this town voted down
a prop 2 1/2 override and debt exclusion, the elected offcials acted like a two year old child and threw a
temper tantrum. So they slappd us with a trash fee. As far as I'm concerned that trash fee is their
prop 2 1/2 override.

Yeah it was a form of punishment because voters like me refused to
fork over more dough.

As for where the money goes....limos,
gas guzzling SUVs, lobster dinners,
etc.

The trash fee indeed was a budget line item exclusion and I do agree that this action was the town's override.

So, here they are again looking for another override. So where did all the money go ? Raises ?

My boss' business is hanging threadbare and will probably have to close down.
How can I ask for a raise if the business is in jeopardy of OOB ?

Just say NO to an override.
If the town govt won't make the cuts then NO MONEY will force the draconian cuts inevitable.

Want more money ? Make cuts.
Want to stay employed ? Level budget.

Simple.

Too many fights Stan

It's affected your thinking abilities Stan. Why would you want to give them the satisfaction of charging us $150 or more each year? Pass the damn exclusion, get rid of the fee and get our roadwork done.

Pass the puck and get off the ice already.

Seems you bought the bait or you are one of the Save Braintree people who are brow beating the voters in actually believing the trash fee will go away.

Once you break the resolve of the voters with an over ride, the Save Braintree people will be picking your pockets again and again year after year.
Hubbard even said as much at his appearance at the FinCom meeting.

They WILL trot out the trash fee and hold it over your head every year.

There is no guarantee from the BOS that they won't threaten a trash fee in exchange for passing additional over rides.
