Is it possible?

To train a couple of Braintrees Police officers to be D.O.T. qualified, so that they could stop any and all commercial vehicles for an inspection?
If they could stop the trucks that use Elm, Hayward, and Union streets, and not the ones that use Rt.53, is it possible that the truck drivers and their companies would rather use Rt.53?
If not, it sure would be some much needed income for the town for any fines that were issued. If the town could not keep the money, then it would be much needed income for the state. The same goes for regular motorists who don't feel they should stop at certain stop signs (Commercial @ Adams st) in town. There is big money to be made in traffic violations out there.

Requests have been made to the Police Dept. on more than one occassion to have DOT trained officers. Answer - No available funding / shortage of police officers.

The Planning Board has made their position clear pertaining to additional truck traffic that could be generated from filling the drydocks and removing the ''Super Structure'' at the shipyard. Quirk will be taking out the ''Super Structure'' by barge and one of the conditions of the special permit to fill the dry docks is that the trucks cannot use Union, Elm/Hayward.

The police department has money to purchase new vehicles every time one of our illustrious police officer crashes one. How about if we remove police construction watchers, replace them with flag men, and use the money saved to pay the Staties to monitor the trucks. They are already trained and less apt to let their ''friends'' off the hook. Everyone knows Quirk owns part of this town and with his trucks parading through - let the games begin. Other companies can't be too far behind.

Oh didn't get your way

Its about time you didn't get your way. One neighborhood has a problem with all the truck traffic and they want to dump it on 2 different towns even though most of the trucks are going to the citgo terminal in BRAINTREE. That terminal was there before most of you bought your houses and should have realized that. The idiot that wants to get rid of cop details and save the town money by using flag men that has nothing to do with this cop details are paid by the company that request it not by the town the only thing that makes sense in your statement is get rid of police details but thats another posting. So get used the trucks and stop dumping your problems onto someone else.
