BRAINTREE JAYCEES GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES FOR SUNDAY October 14, 2001



In attendance: Ann Albrecht, Susan Turner, Susan Clawson and possible new member Julie Tanner.



Duration of the Braintree Jaycees General Membership Meeting was about two hours and a few important upcoming events were discussed and what part Braintree would be playing.



1) The call night to boost membership: It is unfortunately too close to the Costume Party scheduled for October 27, 2001 to have any effect on pulling people in. So, it was decided that the initial meeting to go through the Voters?’ Registration Book will take place on Wednesday October 24, 2001 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the function room at the Ground Round in Braintree. If it is not possible to secure that location, notification will be sent out to those who are willing to help as to where and when to meet.



2)The Regional Meeting: Ann suggested that we contact the Forum and local Cable to run ads for the Costume Party that will be taking place after the meeting. There will be a $10.00 charge and hopefully this will be a great opportunity for prospective members to meet and greet some Jaycee veterans and find out about the organization.



3)Also discussed were our newsletter and our website. For those who are on the mailing list for the Braintree Jaycees, they can look forward to seeing minutes from the previous month?’s meeting included along with any upcoming events and the Agenda for the upcoming meeting. We are still under construction for our Website at the neighborhood link, but it was suggested that maybe Braintree develop their own Website separate from the neighborhood link. We feel there may be a little more freedom in format as well as easier access for new comers.



The meeting was adjourned by Susan Turner and all felt it was a productive meeting.
