Shelby County is offering a final round of rabies clinics before a verification program begins.

During the verification process, officers will go door-to-door to every residence in the county verifying that dogs and cats are vaccinated against the rabies virus. Violators face fines.

The cost for each rabies vaccination is $9 per pet. The shot is administered inside each vehicle.

Thursday, Jan. 6 from 2-4 p.m. at Columbiana Sports Complex on McDow Road.

Friday, Jan. 7 from 2-4 p.m. at New Hope Presbyterian Church on Highway 119 between U.S. 280 and Interstate 65.

Saturday, Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at Oliver Park in Calera on Highway 25.

Saturday, Jan. 8 from 2-4 p.m. at the archway of Orr Park in Montevallo.
