ANNUAL MEETING 2001
I want to thank everyone who attended the Annual Meeting for making time in his/her schedule to be at the meeting and thereby express an interest in Braun Station East. It was a good meeting, and we had good questions and comments from the residents who attended. I would like to see the turnout double at the next annual meeting in December. The Board will exert every effort to make that happen... stay tuned!

THANKS FROM THE NEW PRESIDENT
On a personal note, I feel very privileged to have been elected President of the 2001 Board of Directors. We have a good Board this year, and will continue to work to build on the contributions of the 2000 Board of Directors, as well as the accomplishments of previous boards. I know that this Board is anxious to begin work. Just as well, because time is flying by, and it will be next year before you know it. We have a number of things in the works, and are moving forward briskly...

POOL REPAIRS START
Work on the pool began on March 1, 2001, and should be completed within a week as currently envisioned. We?’re looking forward to the 2001 swim season... By the way, keep the weather of late February and early March in mind when the wonderful weather of July and August is very much in evidence.

TOWNHOMES AT WICKERSHAM AND TEZEL?—UPDATE
A meeting of the SA Zoning Committee in early February resulted in the decision that an additional extension for completion of the townhomes would not be granted. The word is that the owner has 60 days to complete the project or it will be demolished; it is my understanding that the clock started ticking at that zoning meeting. If there is any change to this, we?’ll advise the neighborhood. As you may have noticed, part of the project is fenced off with chain link fence at this time; whatever is in effect now is assuredly different from what went before.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
As always, we need volunteers. Volunteers are the lifeblood of any association, particularly one that is self-managed, like Braun Station East. We need volunteers for the following committees, offices, liaisons...

Common Grounds
Social Committee
Architectural Review Committee (includes Covenants)
Pool/Clubhouse
Welcome
Block Captain Chair

While we have people on some of these committees, or at least a chairman, on others we don?’t have anyone except an interim, acting chair. We can always use more helping hands. If the thought if making a commitment to a committee is more than you want to do, we can always use ?“designated?” volunteers. What?’s a ?“designated?” volunteer? A ?“designated?” volunteer is a volunteer who simply chooses what task he/she wants to volunteer for: as a server or cook at the picnic, as a clean-up person, as someone who takes tickets for an event. Someone who takes care of putting monthly information on the marquees at Guilbeau and Knighthood. If you can pick up a task like that, or have an idea of something else you?’d like to volunteer for, e-mail me at blrdfr@aol.com.

Finally, I?’d like to end of my first ?“President?’s Corner?” column by saying that this is our neighborhood. If you see somebody trashing it, report it. Braun Station East will stay as nice as we are willing to keep it. And we need your efforts to accomplish that.

We welcome any and all comments, and suggestions as to what you?’d like to see in future issues, any changes, additions, etc. Remember, we?’re glad you?’re here!
