High-Speed internet access has reached us here in Brazos Landing. You currently have two choices: Cable (via your TV Cable connection) or DSL (via your Phone line). Cable is provided by RoadRunner, and DSL Access is provided by AllTel - see links below.
It seems to be a toss-up between the two. They both require special installation, offer similar speed and cost about the same. Cable has slightly more security risk, and can have performnace problems at peak loads, while DSL typically offers slightly lower speeds. For a better comparison see link below.
In either case you will also need to subscribe to an ISP (Internet Service provider) to provide the software to get you on the internet. Both RoadRunner and Alltel offer their Own ISP, but there are rumors that the Alltell offering is below par. Apparently there is a very good local alternative called MyLinux ISP - see below.
