Please be aware that the owners of the Governor's Square Corporate development at the intersection of routes 7 and 40 are looking to rezone their property from office regional to commercial. This is the property immediately next to the TD Bank. If successful they will move the Lowe's from Eden Square shopping center across the street and put a second large store and a restaurant as well. THE ONLY ACCESS TO THIS PROPOSED COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT WILL BE FROM ROUTE 7 AND WILL GREATLY AFFECT THE QUALITY OF OUR LIVES IN THE VILLAGES OF CROFTON! Thousands of additional cars will travel on route 7 every day. Please take a moment to take a look at the proposed plans by visitng www.stoptheboxes.org  This is a site that has been set up by the owners of Eden Square Shopping Center (yes, they have a financial interest in keeping the Lowe's store where it is) and the web site has a traffic study as well as a sketch of the proposed development and info on how it will affect us. They'll also post potential upcoming County Council actions to keep us up to date. Let your voices be heard against this development!

What ever happened to the proposed bypass that was supposed to be built for Route 1 between Rt 40 and 273  that just completely stopped in its tracks,  I think the Lowes parking lot in Eden Square is very cumbersome to get in and out of so it would be more convenient than crossing over the busy Rt 40 where Delawareans drive like they are on a suicide mission.   Also  you know what is bothering my quality of life is the crime in this area.   It is nuts all the rapes, robberies and home invasion.  Are the businesses sure they wanna open around here.  Perhaps that will deter them.   Besides I would rather see a business there than a bunch of town homes.  The home builders don't care about the roads either.
