Abandoned and vacant foreclosed houses that remained unsold on the market have been a major problem facing several cities across the United States.
An abandoned foreclosed house is a prime target for vandals, vagrants and other criminal elements. Additionally, vacant foreclosed homes become eyesores that push down property values in neighborhoods and present a danger to the health of our neighborhood.
Recognizing the negative effects and problems created by foreclosed properties is one of the BWT Crime Watch objectives, and to also monitor these vacant properties in our neighborhood.

Things to remember: Not all criminals look like Hollywood Bad Guys. Many Criminals strike during the day and usually dress in clothing to match the surroundings. Some will act like Real Estate Agents, possible buyers, or investors. Don't be deceived by their appearance. If something looks suspicious don't hesitate to call your block captain, or the Sheriff's Department.
