ATV's and other off-road vehicle

Posted in: Middletown Village
The number of off-road vehicles racing around the Ash street pond is getting out of hand. Almost every day in July there has been someone riding around making it difficult for those of us with kids to be able to enjoy the ponds benefits. I used to see people fishing on a regular basis and they are no longer coming around. My yard backs up to the pond and it is very disturbing to sit outside when there is the constant sound of ATV's and motorcycles. I actually watched someone get stuck in the cat tails today as he was trying to ride in the water. Today from 8:00pm to 9:00pm I also watched as three men drove around fast enough to get airborn in the wet grass. It's bad enough that the pond is starting to look terrible, now the grass is as well. I know people have called the police in the past but they rarely get here in time to do anything other than sit and wait. Is it possible to post large signs on both sides of the pond stating that off-road vehicles are not allowed? Please let me know.

Thank you,

Thank you,
The Town of Middletown has posted signs at the Middletown Village ponds.  You have the option of reporting any violations you may observe or experience to the Middletown Police Department.  Please consider participating in our community organizations and also read our newsletters to understand the legalities of ATVs and other recreation vehicles within the county and its municipalities.
     Thank you for your input.
