Your Neighborhood Association needs YOU!

We will have elections for Association officers at the neighborhood meeting on March 19th.
If you are interested in becoming involved with the Neighborhood Association Board, and want to learning what is involved in serving on the Board or on a committee, please call me at 323-8737.
Our current BBVNA President, Ann Pattison, will not be running for re-election so we need to recruit a full slate of nominees for Board offices.
We will take nominations from the attendees before the election at the meeting.
The key to a safe, pleasant and orderly neighborhood is caring and involved
neighbors. Our neighborhood has both, but now crime is becoming an issue and many
of us do not know our neighbors like we used to. Many of our committees are inactive.
It's time for you to become involved. In the busy world we live in, time is at a premium, but it doesn't take much time to be involved. The average board member spends 3 to 5 (unusual) hours/month.
There is a Board meeting and the Neighborhood meeting to attend every other month, except June through August, and there are the duties of the office (minimal). We also have various committees that have become dormant. We need people to revive these.
(See Following articles about committees)
We have lots of ideas, but not enough hands. Some of the current ideas are the improvement of the Treat walkway and obtaining historical status for our neighborhood.
The biggest reward for being involved is the REWARD OF A JOB WELL DONE and MAKING NEW FRIENDS in the neighborhood.
We have a Neighborhood Association not a Homeowner's Association. The difference is
that
everyone in the neighborhood belongs whether or not you are the property owner.
The purpose of our association is to have a safe, pleasant and orderly neighborhood and to preserve and protect our neighborhood. We are not architectural or financial police. I have been on the Board for the past 6 years and it has been rewarding and fun. I know many of you as a result.
Hope you get involved!
Rita
Oh yes. in addition to BBVNA business, we have wine and cheese at our Board meetings.
