Broadview Farms Neighborhood Association
Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, August 8, 2006
Peggy Besch?’s Home
1090 Langley Ave
The meeting was called to order at 6:40p.m. by Peggy
Besch, President of BFNA. 6 board members were present: Bob Husbands was unable
to attend. Minutes of the July board meeting were read by Bob Yoder. Ronda made a motion to accept the
minutes and Sybil seconded the motion. Joe Flynn gave a financial report of $655 presently in
the bank, and has a receipt for
$25 for the coffee that George delivered to the church.
Old Business: We received the drawings and estimates
from Dick Tozour at Home Depot and Joe delivered copies to Joel Norman who
agreed to try to find a contractor to build the signs for us. May need to call a brick company to
receive prices on bricks. George
agreed to stop by WR Taylor to pick up samples. Ronda agreed to contact Mike at Classic Signs (referred to
us by Dick Tozour) regarding the construction of the inset sign. She would also contact Ed with
questions we had about placement of signs, procedures and the grant
application. It was decided that we prefer a brick that was not too dark or
light, out of style, and one that would reflect the brick homes in the
neighborhood. The sign would be
embossed.
New Business: Ronda agreed to contact the candidates
running for city council in our district and invite them to our next
meeting.
Peggy mentioned the possibility of changing our
monthly meetings to every other month, while keeping the board meetings
monthly. Some associations have
done this with increased attendance and support as a result. This will be brought up at the general
meeting for members to think about and to a vote at the September meeting. Also in September is the election of
officers for the association.
Duties of each officer will be read and fully explained and no one will
be forced into a position they do not want. Also at the next meeting we will be discussing and
finalizing the brick color, sign color and design of the neighborhood signs as
we bring the grant application to a close.
With no further business, Sybil made a motion to
adjourn the meeting and George seconded it.
Respectfully submitted,
Bob Yoder, Secretary
