Neighborhood Safety report

Feb 02, 2003

One of the results of our summer ?“Speeding Meeting?” was our request for a Speed Indication Trailer. Our July request resulted in the Trailer arriving October 23 for a one-week visit. It was great having it the week of Beggars Night. Columbus has recently purchased 10 additional trailers, so we should not have to wait so long after our next request.

We are also investigating the addition of additional traffic signage, and speed traffic calming devices within our neighborhood. We have asked the city to review the 50 mph speed limit on SR161, hoping they will reduce it to 45 mph.

We have repaired the west light at our SR161 entrance.

The City Department of Water responded to our request for a fresh coat of paint on our fire hydrants - within two weeks! By the way, we have no choice in color, this is the Columbus Fire District?’s color. We also checked with the Fire Department, which confirmed a July flow test and a fall winterization.
